Assam Valley School Mini United Nations Trip

I believe that God works out things for the best even when it doesn’t seem like it. Twelve of us along with Sir Mrinal got the privilege to participate in Assam Valley School’s first ever Model United Nations from the 16th to the 18th of July, 2019. We safely reached our destination despite the floods that were causing havoc in the region at the time. We were warmly welcomed by the student body of AVS and were made to feel at home.

Over the course of the three days, we learnt a lot. Each of us was allotted a country each to represent in the various committees. We learnt about the countries we represented, made new friends from various schools across the country, and became a lot more aware of world affairs than before.

The chairpersons of the committees were amazing and made us feel very comfortable even though we were first timers. Apart from the sessions and programmes, we also enjoyed the food they served and the special ‘jam session’ organised on the second day. We are very grateful to the school for giving us the opportunity to represent the school and broaden our perspectives on the various issues that concern our society. It was an amazing experience for all of us.
