THE INTERNATIONAL AWARD FOR YOUNG PEOPLE REPORT 2024

The Award Programme was first introduced in the United Kingdom in 1956 as the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

The aim is to motivate young people aged between 14 and 25 years to become involved in a balanced programme of voluntary self-development activities to take them through the potentially difficult period between adolescence and adulthood.

The Award’s concept is one of individual challenge, giving young people a balanced, non-competitive programme of voluntary activities which encourage personal discovery and growth, self-reliance, perseverance, responsibility to themselves and service to their community.

Currently students from over 240 institutions across India participate in the Award Programme. So far over 100,000 young people have successfully gained their Awards. Top employers in the country and abroad recognize the “work-ready skills award holders” and bring them to their business.

The Award therefore is challenging, and can be undertaken at your own pace supervised by an assigned Award Leader.

For the very first time, in the last academic session, 17 Hollotoli Students successfully completed the program and were awarded with Bronze medal and certificate.

We are pleased to inform you that the Hollotoli School, Dimapur, was also selected for the “Exemplary Contribution to the Community through Voluntary Service” during Award Journey 2023.

Mr. Mhonbemo Kithan, the Award Leader was also awarded with “Special Service Meritorious Certificate” by the National Award Authority for his all-out support towards the Award Programme.

There are 3 levels of the Award – Bronze, Silver & Gold.

Participants must complete the four mandatory sections of Voluntary Service, Adventurous Journey, Skill & Physical Recreation in a period of six months all together.
